Dairy Usage: Sodium bicarbonate has been traditionally used as a buffer to maintain rumen pH, alleviate butterfat depression due to low fiber diets, and aid fiber digestibility.
Poultry Usage: In broiler and turkey diets sodium bicarbonate is used as a sodium source to maintain electrolyte balance, improve heat stress tolerance, and dry litter. In layer diets sodium bicarbonate is used to improve eggshell quality, particularly in older hens and during heat stress.
Industrial and Pool Grade sodium bicarbonate for use as a pH adjustment and alkalinity regulation serve customers water treatment needs.
USP Powdered #1, USP Fine Granular #2, USP Granular #4 and USP Coarse Granular #5 grades have a wide range of uses in foods, chemicals, consumer goods and pharmaceuticals.
All USP grades meet the United States Pharmacopoeia and Food Chemicals Codex specifications for general suitability in pharmaceutical and food applications. Food grade sodium bicarbonate meets the quality specifications of the Food Chemicals Codex.
FMC is also capable of producing Hemodialysis Grade sodium bicarbonate for treatment in association with blood dialysis. FMC Coarse Granular #5 is also an ideal media for use in soda blasting and provides an environmentally friendly alternative to sand blasting.
Sodium bicarbonate is available in bulk; shipped by hopper truck, pneumatic truck or rail cars. Sodium bicarbonate is also packaged in 50 lb. poly-lined bags and various poly supersack sizes. Packaged product is palletized and wrapped for shipment at our Green River, WY facility or other warehouses throughout the United States.
