A review of FMC’s hydrogen peroxide customer volume commitments predicts that
our capacity will be fully utilized in 2005, making next year unusually
challenging from a product supply and distribution standpoint. In response to
this outlook, FMC is implementing an order control program for bulk shipments of
standard and technical grade hydrogen peroxide. Our goal is to ensure that FMC
can consistently supply one hundred percent of our volume commitments in the
face of an increase in demand from the pulp and paper industry.
Starting this month, FMC will accept monthly orders that are consistent with
customer contract agreements and/or historic consumption rates. In addition, FMC
is taking the following steps to ensure that we are able to serve our customers
reliably.
-
Investing in new distribution equipment (e.g. railcars & truck
trailers) to improve flexibility.
-
Planning the timing of maintenance at our North American plants to ensure
maximum production during historical peak demand periods
FMC is committed to reliably supplying hydrogen peroxide to its customers.
FMC request our customer’s help by providing us with accurate forecasts,
increasing order lead-times, and communicating changes in a timely
fashion.
